Consultations take place at this desk, on the second floor.

Megumi Saeki runs this office on her own and handles spouse visas, permanent residency and naturalization herself. The person you meet at the first consultation is the person who calls you with the result.

This is a fictional office created as a design sample.

When you hire me

Skip the line
at Shinagawa.
I’ll stand in it for you.

I am registered with Immigration as an application agent (shinsei toritsugi), so I can submit your application on your behalf. In most cases, you will not need to go to the immigration office at all.

  1. 01

    I prepare the paperwork

You get a checklist of the documents to collect, in English and Japanese. I write the application form and the letter of explanation.

  2. 02

    I file it for you

I take your application to the Tokyo Regional Immigration Services Bureau in Shinagawa.

  3. 03

    I handle follow-up requests

If Immigration asks for more documents, we decide together what to send, and I file those as well.

Naturalization is the one exception: you must apply in person at the Legal Affairs Bureau. I go with you on that day.

About Megumi

When I worked in London for three years, I put together my own visa renewal every time.

More than once I was sent back from the counter, and I still remember the day my papers were finally accepted on the third try. After coming home I became a gyoseishoshi, and in 2016 I opened this office in Monzen-nakacho. Today I explain Japanese immigration paperwork in English, for people building their lives here.

Finding the office

Take Exit 4 at Monzen-nakacho Station (Tokyo Metro Tozai Line or Toei Oedo Line). The office is a 3-minute walk from there. There is a dry cleaner on the ground floor, and the stairs to the left of the shop lead up to the second floor. There is no elevator, so if you have a stroller, call me when you arrive and I will come down to help.
