Services and fees
Every fee here
includes tax.
The only extra cost is Immigration’s own processing fee, paid with a revenue stamp. It depends on the application, so I tell you the amount when I give you a quote.

What the fee covers
- A checklist of documents to collect, in English and Japanese
- The application form and the letter of explanation
- Filing at Immigration as your application agent
- Handling any request for more documents
- Receiving the result and letting you know (for extensions and changes, I also collect your new residence card)
What costs extra
- Immigration’s processing fee (revenue stamp)
- City office fees for documents such as your residence certificate and tax certificate
- Translation of documents written in languages other than English
Payment, and after the quote
You pay in two parts: half when you hire me, and the other half when I file the application, by bank transfer.
Once you have a quote, the fee does not go up. Handling a request from Immigration for more documents is already included.
If an application is refused, I go to Immigration to ask why. We then decide together whether to apply again. A second application costs half the original fee.
What I don’t handle
- Refugee status applications
- Deportation, detention and provisional release procedures
- Business Manager visas (for people starting a company in Japan)
- Procedures for companies hiring foreign staff (Specified Skilled Worker, registered support and so on)
For these, I refer you to an office or a lawyer who specializes in them.
